Just recently opened in Rotterdam and already a hit, Bokaal. Situated on one of Rotterdam’s nicest little squares. Hidden behind the busy streets, and near ” de Markthal”. Last weekend Bokaal’s terrace also proofed to be one of the winners in town. Luckily they have these heaters, so even in winter time it’s cosy outside.
Bokaal serves over 90 different beers. Beer straight from the tap to bottled beer. And for us ladies (or men) who are not really keen on drinking beer, Bokaal has a nice wine list too.
Besides drinking these fine beers and lovely wine, it’s all about food pairing. The menu offers great cheese and meat plateaus. Order from the menu, or take a look in the showcase at the back of the restaurant where all the food is displayed, ready for you to choose from.
Though, do you have a big appetite? Check the menu for some classic dishes like, Steak Tartare, French onion soup or Boeuf Bourguignon with homemade fries. The last one is my favourite.
Bokaal is a really nice place to sit back, have a chat, drink, eat and relax.
And don’t forget to have a look at the big poster on the wall when you go to the ladies/mens room. It’s an old photo of how the square used to look like, many years ago. The way how the place has been decorated shows a lot of love for Rotterdam. It breathes a bit of the harbor feeling and the warmth of the city’s personality. The last one is also formed by the staff. They enjoy what they do and make you feel welcome. Yes, it’s one of my favourites already.
